Job summary

Howard University is seeking a Study Coordinator for the Clinical Trials Unit to coordinate study participants and execute tasks per study protocols. The role collaborates with physicians, staff, participants and the public, ensuring consent and timely scheduling of tests and procedures.

You will maintain accurate documentation, enter data electronically, and support regulatory reporting while contributing to Howard University’s research mission and patient care goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• Health-related field concentration desirable.
• Knowledge of clinical trials protocols is expected.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (oral and written).
• Ability to maintain source documentation and enter data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain familiarity with the protocol and evaluate study candidates for eligibility.
• Meet with patient caretakers to review enrollment details.
• Ensure informed consent obtained from guardians and patients when applicable.
• Schedule tests and appointments within appropriate timeframes.
• Transmit prescriptions for study medication to the research pharmacist with patient metrics.
• Identify abnormal laboratory results and arrange repeats as per protocol.
• Complete case report forms accurately and enter data electronically.
• Maintain shadow file source documentation for each participant.
• Respond to date inquiries in a timely manner.
• Complete Serious Adverse Event reports within required timeframes.
• Report to the Project Director and Principal Investigator on assignments.
• Perform other duties as instructed by the Principal Investigator and Project Director.
