Job summary

Koniag Emerging Technology (KET), a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Strategic Communications Lead with a Secret clearance to drive communications strategy and user adoption for a portfolio of federal applications. This role is remote, with a preference for the Washington DC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, change management, or user adoption roles in tech or government environments.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing communications strategies for technical products or platforms.
• Experience briefing senior leadership and government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategic communications plans to support application rollouts, updates, and ongoing user adoption.
• Learn the functionality and value of each application to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create communications materials (presentations, newsletters, talking points, FAQs, training aids, release notes, marketing collateral) for government audiences.
• Act as liaison between development team and government leadership to translate progress into actionable messaging.
• Plan stakeholder engagement activities (briefings, webinars, demos, feedback sessions) to drive awareness and adoption.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Teams to stay current on features and roadmaps.
• Design and implement user adoption strategies including change management techniques.
• Monitor and report on communication effectiveness and adoption metrics; adjust strategy as needed.
• Coordinate with government Communications/Public Affairs to align messaging with agency standards.
• Prepare executive briefing materials for government leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Advise leadership on communications best practices and strategic messaging approaches.
• Support internal team communications to align technical teams with stakeholder-facing messaging.
