Job summary

WGL is seeking a Communications Content Advisor to develop compelling content for employees, customers, communities, and external stakeholders while coordinating campaigns from planning through publication.

In this hands-on role you will manage content calendars and digital channels, support executive visibility, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver clear, consistent communications aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of communications experience, with strong writing and editing.
• Experience coordinating communications projects and managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience managing websites, digital channels, content-management systems, or publishing platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Government Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns and using communications metrics to evaluate performance is preferred.
• Experience within regulated utilities, energy, public sector, or critical infrastructure environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging content for employee, customer, community, operational, and corporate communications.
• Create and edit articles, announcements, newsletters, website and social media content, presentations, talking points, and other communications materials.
• Support executive visibility through thoughtful content and message development.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent organizational voice.
• Manage editorial calendars, publishing schedules, digital content updates, and content-planning processes.
• Coordinate integrated communications campaigns and workflows across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure content and communications activities align with organizational priorities and key business initiatives.
• Compile communications metrics and recommend improvements based on results and audience engagement.
• Support emergency communications planning, preparedness exercises, and incident‑response efforts, including the development and distribution of timely communications materials.
