Job summary

WGL is seeking a Communications Content Advisor to craft engaging content for employees, customers, communities, and external stakeholders while coordinating campaigns from planning to publication.

In this hands-on role, you will manage content calendars and digital channels, support executive visibility, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver clear, consistent communications aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of communications experience with strong writing and editing skills.
• Experience coordinating projects and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing websites, digital channels, CMS, or publishing platforms.
• Strong organizational, project-management, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Government Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• Experience with integrated campaigns and using metrics to evaluate performance is preferred.
• Experience in regulated utilities, energy, public sector or critical infrastructure assets is a plus.
• Incident Command System training or emergency communications experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging content for employee, customer, community, and corporate communications.
• Create and edit articles, newsletters, website and social media content, presentations, and talking points.
• Support executive visibility through content and message development.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent voice.
• Manage editorial calendars, publishing schedules, and content-planning processes.
• Coordinate campaigns across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure content aligns with priorities and initiatives; compile metrics and suggest improvements.
• Support emergency communications planning and incident-response materials.
