Job summary

Washington Gas is seeking a Communications Content Advisor to develop and edit content for employees, customers, communities, and external stakeholders. You will coordinate campaigns from planning through publication, manage calendars and digital channels, support executive visibility, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver clear, consistent messaging.

The role requires 2–5 years in communications, strong writing and editing skills, experience with content-management

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of communications experience with strong writing, editing, and content development capabilities.
• Experience coordinating communications projects and managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience managing websites, digital channels, content-management systems, or publishing platforms.
• Strong organizational, project-management, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Government Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging content for employee, customer, community, operational, and corporate communications.
• Create and edit articles, announcements, newsletters, website and social media content, presentations, talking points, and other materials.
• Support executive visibility through thoughtful content and message development.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels while maintaining a consistent voice.
• Manage editorial calendars, publishing schedules, and content updates.
• Coordinate integrated communications campaigns across internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure content aligns with organizational priorities and key business initiatives.
• Compile communications metrics and recommend improvements based on results.
• Support emergency communications planning and incident‑response materials.
