Job summary

Woodforest Bank in Texas seeks a Commercial Loan Underwriter to independently analyze, underwrite, and recommend credit decisions for commercial lending relationships in line with policy, regulatory guidance, and safe banking practices. You will evaluate borrower and guarantor financial strength, assess repayment capacity, review collateral, and prepare credit memorandums.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial credit analysis/underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market, CRE and/or C&I lending relationships.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes commercial loan requests including C&I, owner-occupied real estate, investor real estate, construction, and specialty lending.
• Evaluate borrower and guarantor financial strength via financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, DSCR, liquidity, leverage, profitability.
• Assess repayment sources and identify credit risks.
• Prepare detailed credit memos and underwriting analyses.
• Review appraisals, environmental reports, credit reports, collateral docs and other due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with loan structures and internal authorities.
• Participate in portfolio reviews, renewals, modifications, and monitoring.
