Job summary

Vizient seeks a Category Management Director to lead category strategy, complex sourcing, and value-focused initiatives across assigned portfolios. You will guide negotiations, stakeholder alignment, and analytics to deliver measurable financial and organizational value.

This hybrid role requires three days per week in the Irving, TX office and travel as needed, with incentives tied to performance and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, consulting, healthcare operations, contracting, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing and category management initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder committees, value analysis initiatives, or cross-functional decision-making groups.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Advanced analytical skills to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Deep knowledge of AI tools, capabilities, outputs, and limitations, applying AI effectively in business situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead category leadership and strategy aligning with client priorities and objectives.
• Own end-to-end strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives including RFI/RFP development and negotiations.
• Build consensus among stakeholders, suppliers, and Vizient teams to meet clinical, operational, and financial goals.
• Provide mentoring and subject-matter expertise to team members and represent Vizient in external engagements.
• Evaluate spend, utilization, and market data to shape category strategies and recommendations.
• Drive value realization, standardization, innovation, risk mitigation, and cost optimization.
