Job summary

Vizient is seeking a Category Management Director to serve as strategic leader, category SME, and trusted advisor for assigned portfolios. You will develop and execute category strategies delivering value across members while advancing Vizient's objectives, leading complex sourcing initiatives and stakeholder alignment.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytics, and executive communication. It follows a hybrid work model (three days in the office) with offices in Irving, TX; Chicago, IL;

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in category management or strategic sourcing.
• Proven ability to influence executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience leading complex sourcing and category initiatives.
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to translate data into strategy.
• Deep knowledge of AI tools, capabilities, and responsible use.
• Healthcare, GPO, or regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead category strategies aligned with client priorities and objectives.
• Oversee end-to-end sourcing including RFI/RFP and contracting.
• Guide stakeholder committees and align priorities for sourcing decisions.
• Manage a cross-functional portfolio with analytics and implementation.
• Apply AI fluency to improve strategy and decision-making while ensuring responsible use.
