Job summary

HNE seeks an Agency Carrier Relations & Distribution Manager to lead carrier relationships and align strategies to drive agency growth and profitability. This role ensures market access, understands underwriting appetite, and translates carrier strategy into actionable guidance for sales and service teams.

You will manage carrier partnerships, lead meetings, and monitor pricing trends while collaborating with leadership to optimize carrier placement and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a Four year College or University.
• 5+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
• Prior experience as a Territory Representative, Marketing Representative, or Distribution Manager on the carrier side.
• Strong understanding of Personal Lines and/or Small Commercial P&C.
• Knowledge of agency-carrier dynamics and production management.
• Must live in PA, NJ, or NY area.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for carrier territory representatives and leadership teams.
• Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with all carrier partners.
• Coordinate and lead regular carrier meetings, performance reviews, and planning sessions.
• Act as the escalation point for underwriting, service, and operational issues.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of product offerings, pricing trends, and regulatory developments impacting carriers.
• Track production, hit ratios, and growth by carrier.
• Identify opportunities to improve carrier mix, utilization, and profitability.
• Align internal production with carrier goals, incentives, and contingency programs.
• Partner with leadership to guide carrier placement strategy.
• Translate carrier updates into clear, actionable guidance for sales and service teams.
• Lead internal training on new products, underwriting updates, and appetite shifts.
• Stay current on carrier systems, platforms, and technology updates.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize quoting and placement processes.
• Provide regular reporting on strategic risks and opportunities.
