Job summary

Strategic Solutions Unlimited, Inc. (SSU) is seeking a Capture Manager to lead the full lifecycle of business development and proposal efforts in the defense sector.

This hands-on role demands a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and deliver compelling, compliant proposals. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in federal or commercial proposal development, familiarity with FAR/DFARS, and proficiency with MS Office and proposal tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of federal or commercial proposal development experience.
• Experience managing full proposal lifecycles and writing winning proposals.
• Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and common government procurement vehicles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and proposal tools (e.g., SharePoint, RFPIO, or similar).
• APMP certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new business opportunities through government portals (e.g., SAM.gov), market research, and industry networking.
• Conduct competitive analysis, SWOT assessments, and win strategy development.
• Engage with potential partners and build teaming arrangements, NDAs, and subcontractor agreements.
• Lead and manage the proposal development lifecycle from kickoff to delivery.
• Develop proposal schedules, compliance matrices, and outlines.
• Coordinate inputs from internal SMEs, subcontractors, and external consultants.
