Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking a Senior Capital Projects Manager to oversee capital improvement projects under the Director of Capital Improvements. You will plan, budget, and drive projects to completion on time, on budget, and with quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in multi-discipline construction project management.
• Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
• Knowledge of contracts, design, and construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital improvement projects from design to handover.
• Develop and manage project budgets, objectives, and reports.
• Lead the projects department team; hire, train, and evaluate staff.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and consultants to develop plans.
• Prepare bid documents and support bid/selection processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
• Communicate with stakeholders to clarify expected outcomes.
• Maintain project documentation and progress reporting.
