Job summary

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) is seeking an Event Manager to plan, organize, and manage events at our Birmingham, AL campus. You will coordinate logistics, client needs, and on-site operations to deliver exceptional experiences for guests and clients.

Responsibilities include pre-event planning, on-site supervision, safety compliance, post-event debriefs, and collaboration with internal teams and partners to ensure flawless execution and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years related knowledge, experience in the hospitality industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business management, public administration, or related field.
• Certifications CMP/CSEP/CGMP/CMM/CEM/CEPS or equivalent preferred.
• Valid State of Alabama Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, execute and manage assigned events.
• Coordinate logistical requirements, event documents, and client needs.
• Serve as on-site facility contact; coordinate operations with internal teams and clients.
• Ensure event plans meet fire and occupancy codes with authority.
• Conduct post-event meetings to review services and outcomes.
