Job summary

PETA is seeking a Special Projects Communications Planner to manage campaign initiatives, conduct research, and coordinate advertising placements for national and international campaign work. The role requires strong writing, organization, and independent work capabilities along with a deep knowledge of animal rights issues.

You will develop concepts for ads, collaborate with Production, Marketing, and Media Relations, and monitor ad campaigns for effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to quickly acquire effective project management capability.
  • Ability to produce exceptional, accurate research and analysis.
  • Maintain extensive and current knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and editing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and master PETA's modus operandi, strategies, and goals.
  • Independently manage campaigns and conduct research.
  • Develop and execute campaigns to raise animal rights issues in public consciousness.
  • Brainstorm ad design concepts and coordinate ad placement across mediums.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Media to issue news releases and blogs.
  • Obtain documentation of placed ads and monitor campaign effectiveness.
  • Support the Special Projects Division by contributing to brainstorming meetings.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor and president.
