Job summary

Moog Inc. in Phoenix is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for multiple business areas within the Space/Defense group.

You will negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with planning, production, and engineering to meet program schedules. The role requires a degree in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain or related field and 3+ years in procurement, preferably in aerospace/defense.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree with years of procurement/operations experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a sense of urgency.
• Experience in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense industry preferred.
• Understanding of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management.
• FAR/DFAR knowledge preferred; experience sourcing electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for multiple business areas and support schedules.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings.
• Manage supplier performance, on-time delivery and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with planning, production and engineering for gating and releases.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Mentor junior buyers and support continuous improvement.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain

Associate's Degree in Business/Analytics

Strong communication and organizational skills

Strong sense of urgency

Experience in complex manufacturing/Aerospace-Defense

Knowledge of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management
