Job summary

Tomball Controls, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our supply chain team in Texas. The role focuses on procurement excellence—ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing and accurate purchasing to support manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate with suppliers, manage purchase orders, track shipments, and participate in inventory control while helping identify cost savings and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers/vendors for goods and services needed by the organization.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers to secure best timing and costing.
• Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring policy and budget compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers to track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve issues.
• Maintain records of purchasing activities, including POs, invoices, and contracts.
• Support inventory management through stock checks and coordination with other departments.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Provide administrative support to the procurement team including data entry and reporting.
• Ensure accurate inventory management with regular stock counts and reconciliations.
