Job summary

City of Germantown seeks an experienced budget and performance management leader to guide the development and execution of the city’s operating and capital budgets. You will work with executive staff to ensure fiscal responsibility and robust performance metrics are in place.

As a second-level role in the series, you will mentor junior staff, apply rigorous analysis, and coordinate across departments to align budgets with strategic goals and city priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level education in finance, budgeting, or public administration with related work experience.
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and develop performance metrics.
• Proven skills in communicating with elected officials, staff, and management.
• Experience leading budgeting processes and cross-department collaboration.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or process improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual budget preparation process and data collection.
• Analyze operating and CIP requests and align with strategic goals.
• Monitor expenditures and revenues city-wide for accountability.
• Lead strategic planning and performance improvement efforts.
• Develop five-year financial forecast and long-range plans.
• Provide staff support to committees and present financial findings.
