Job summary

The City of Germantown is seeking a Budget Manager to lead the development and implementation of operating and capital budgets and the City’s performance management system. This role works with executive staff to ensure fiscal responsibility and data-driven decision making.

Under general direction, you will manage a team, set budgeting policy, and coordinate with departments to align with the City’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of municipal budgeting and finance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with elected officials and city staff.
• Knowledge of performance measurement systems and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility and internal controls across funds and departments.
• Lead and mentor staff in budget and performance management tasks.
• Coordinate strategic planning and performance improvement efforts with executive staff.
• Prepare and present technical and financial reports to City Administrator, staff and Council.
