Job summary

Josephine County in Grants Pass, OR seeks an Accountant II/I to provide oversight of budgets, grants, and contracts. You will work with the Finance Director and other accountants to ensure COSO-based controls, GAAP adherence, and accurate general ledger data.

Responsibilities include analyzing procedures, reviewing grant content, and coordinating supplemental budgets, with collaboration across county departments and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with four years progressively responsible experience.
• Advanced knowledge of COSO framework, GASB pronouncements, and Uniform Guidance.
• Advanced knowledge of Oregon budget law.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operating procedures, budget processes and requirements and grant content.
• Review grant and contract content for compliance with rules and regulations.
• Monitor and approve payments per contract terms.
• Produce and review monthly financial reports for departments and agencies.
• Develop procedures for financial records and accounting systems in the County.
• Coordinate preparation of the County budget and CAFR with other accountants.
