Job summary

Clark County Auditor's Office seeks a seasoned Accountant to provide high‑level accounting expertise for complex fiscal records and systems. You will analyze financial data, prepare forecasts, and interpret accounting research to support county operations.

The role requires a BA in accounting/related field with 2–4 years experience; CPA is desirable. Proficiency in governmental accounting, Excel, and Workday ERP is expected, with potential supervision of junior staff.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and 2–4 years of professional accounting experience.
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant is highly desirable.
Knowledge of governmental accounting and related laws; Excel, word processing and graphics software.

Responsibilities

Create, track and report on grants on SEFA.
Train grants users on grant procedures within Workday ERP.
Track expenditures; prepare journal entries; arrange fund transfers; reconcile to General Ledger.
Research and interpret accounting issues; develop policy recommendations for department forecasting.
Set up and maintain suppliers; prepare 1099s.
