Merced College invites applications for a Budget Analyst to develop and monitor the District’s annual budgets, forecast revenues and expenditures, and ensure fiscal integrity across funds. The role collaborates with staff and managers to provide actionable insights for student success through sound fiscal planning.

The position is housed within the District’s Business and Fiscal Services, offering a path to influence budgeting, reporting, and internal controls in a growing educational

Competenze

• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting theories.
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to perform financial forecasting and analysis.
• Ability to prepare clear budget and financial reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Mansioni

• Assist with budget development, administration, and execution.
• Forecast revenues, expenditures, and fund balances.
• Monitor funding availability and process budget transfers.
• Oversee budgeting for general and supplemental funds.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports and statements.
• Develop what-if analyses for salary and benefit costs.
• Provide training on the district’s budget system.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes and policies.
