Job summary

Reading Area Community College is seeking a Budget Officer to coordinate the development, administration, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets. You will provide financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to inform senior leadership and support the college's strategic objectives.

Collaborating with departments across the College, you will ensure compliance with policies and regulations, maintain budget systems, and develop dashboards and KPIs to promote transparent, data-driven

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
3–5 years of budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or financial planning experience.
Experience developing and administering operating and capital budgets.
MBA/MPA or related master’s degree preferred.
Higher education budgeting experience preferred.
Experience with state appropriations and restricted funds.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the development of the College's annual operating and capital budgets.
Prepare budget guidelines, timelines, and instructions for departments.
Monitor departmental budgets and analyze budget-to-actual variances.
Develop financial dashboards and KPIs for senior leadership.
Assist with capital planning and reporting; complete PDE capital applications.
