Job summary

Reading Area Community College is seeking a Budget Officer to coordinate the college’s operating and capital budgets, perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic financial objectives.

The role requires collaboration with departments, adherence to governance policies, and strong budgeting controls. The Budget Officer will monitor budget performance, assist with long-range planning, and ensure accuracy across financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible budgeting/finance experience.
• Experience developing and administering operating and capital budgets.
• Experience preparing financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development of the College’s annual operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor departmental budgets and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Develop multi-year forecasts and budget models.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual budget reports and dashboards.
