Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Proposal Specialist to join the Strategic Bid Center. This role supports bid management and proposal development across multiple business lines, collaborating with sales, consultants, and SMEs to craft compelling presentations and win new business.

You will manage templates, draft responses, and coordinate edits while ensuring branding and client requirements are met. APMP certs are highly desired and a hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Marketing, English, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years in marketing, sales, or related field; professional services/consulting a plus.
• Strong proposal development, writing and editing skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Detail-oriented with a big-picture mindset.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite.

Responsibilities

• Create proposal and presentation templates aligned with client requirements and branding.
• Develop and drive internal work plans based on external deadlines and hold teams accountable.
• Research and draft responses to proposal questions with SMEs.
• Own master documents and manage edits through completion.
• Facilitate strategy discussions to identify client-centered value propositions.
• Write executive summaries following best-practice approaches.
• Collaborate with a graphic designer on finalist presentation materials.
