Job summary

EmblemHealth is seeking an experienced Senior Project/Portfolio Manager to develop change and innovation in BH strategy, collaborating with key business stakeholders. You will translate strategy into defined tactics, manage a program portfolio, and ensure alignment with business plans to deliver measurable improvements in mental health services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field, such as psychology, social work or public health.
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
• PMI Certification - Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
• 10–12+ years' professional business experience, preferably in the Healthcare Payer business (Required).
• Minimum 10 years' experience managing large and highly complex Healthcare Payer projects (Required).
• Project experience in Behavioral Health (Preferred).
• 3+ years' experience in Management Consulting (Preferred).
• Ability to assess and develop risk mitigation strategy recommendations (Required).
• Strong understanding of project related business case development and cost benefit analysis (Required).
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with staff up to leadership (Required).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences (Required).
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) (Required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support multiple, complex projects based on the enterprise strategy.
• Track and manage all project action items to timely resolution.
• Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health programs, ensuring they meet clinical standards and address community needs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Improve the overall quality and accessibility of mental health services.
• Support department executives in executing business strategy and process improvement.
• Lead in project status meetings and possibly Steering Committees for mission-critical projects.
• Create and implement new mental health programs and services and adapt existing ones to evolving needs.
• Ensure programs adhere to laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, and implement quality initiatives.
• Reprioritize work as needs dictate and facilitate discussions at all levels.
• Provide oversight of relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Manage project completion postmortem and capture Lessons Learned.
• Establish and implement strategic project management documentation and methodologies.
• Contribute to decision making regarding utilization of project resources.
• Identify critical resource needs and negotiate allocations to ensure progress.
