Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead origination and development for FlexGen energy campuses serving data centers in the United States. The role focuses on commercial structuring, site development, interconnection, and partnerships with utilities and large customers.

You will build relationships with hyperscalers, co-locations, and other stakeholders, manage negotiations, and help shape opportunities across solar, wind and gas generation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline including business administration, economics, engineering, etc.
• A minimum 5 years experience in the U.S. electric power sector or related field
• Experience working with at least one leading U.S. utility or IPP, hyperscaler/co-lo/neocloud or data center developer
• Demonstrated achievements in leveraging relationships and industry networks to create new business opportunities
• Deep knowledge of the U.S. power sector or data center developer market or both
• Commercial negotiations experience preferred
• Professional experience at the intersection of the electric power sector and data center demand preferred
• Relationship building: Highly skilled and creating, building and cultivating professional relationships to create unique insights and unlock new business opportunities
• Communications: Clear, structured written communication skills and ability to convey complex commercial arrangements clearly

Responsibilities

• Create and build relationships across the energy and data center ecosystem to support FlexGen objectives
• Manage commercial progress of FlexGen Energy Campus opportunities from conception to term sheet and negotiations with hyperscalers
• Research market intelligence from public sources and direct relationships to inform development activities
• Maintain relationships with utilities, coops, munis, and other load-serving entities for insights on dispatchable needs and RFPs
• Increase visibility of FlexGen capabilities through outreach, conferences, presentations, and networking
• Partner with internal stakeholders to shape energy campus opportunities meeting customer and partner needs
