Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus seeks an experienced servant leader to serve as Assistant Vice President, Student Experience Engineering. The AVP will lead directors overseeing engineering, modernization, and support for student-facing digital experiences such as portals, chatbot, CRM, and Microsoft productivity tools.

The role emphasizes governance, secure delivery, and collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to enable UMGC priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, IS, Software Engineering, Business or related field.
• At least 10 years in software engineering or digital platforms with 7+ years in leadership.
• Experience leading enterprise application portfolios and modernization initiatives using Agile/DevOps/CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering for student-facing digital experiences and portals.
• Oversee lifecycle planning, governance, and delivery performance of applications.
• Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, data, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
