Job summary
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks an experienced servant leader to serve as Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Platforms Engineering (AVP). Reporting to the Vice President, Platform Engineering, this AVP leads a team of directors overseeing the engineering, modernization, escalated support, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications that enable critical institutional business processes.
Position is hybrid with 2-3 days/week in office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/IS/Engineering or related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, application engineering, or enterprise platforms.
- 7+ years leading software development, architecture, or technical delivery teams; hands-on ERP experience (HCM, Finance, SIS) and cloud/hybrid platforms.
- Experience with enterprise integration, API, and vendor management; strong cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise platform strategy, modernization, and domain alignment.
- Oversee engineering, testing, and escalated support of enterprise applications and integrations.
- Guide governance, quality, testing, and release readiness activities.
