Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC in Bristol, RI seeks an Assistant Controller to manage the financial accounting for the organization in a manner that supports profitability and client service. The ideal candidate will apply GAAP knowledge, lead a skilled accounting team, and drive efficiency through ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics BC.

Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entries, GL reconciliations, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA preferred for Senior/Assistant roles.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and chart of accounts.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting and month-end close for multiple entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, etc.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts per policies.
• Lead a team of accountants with training and development.
• Promote collaboration and continuous improvement with stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and corporate policies.
• Lead year-end audits and respond to external auditors.
• Drive adoption of new accounting software and tools.
