Job summary

BlueStar, Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage accounts receivable and drive timely payments for goods and services. You will coordinate billing, monitor credit exposure, and support sales and management teams with accurate invoicing and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years accounts receivable/ collection experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Oracle, Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Proficient in data entry; attentive to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize.
• Ability to meet deadlines set by management.
• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards work and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Generate invoices, credit notes and debit notes.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payment, delayed payments and irregularities.
• Manage assigned account book through timely collection calls.
• Release system held customer orders when necessary.
• Maintain a clean AR Aging report for assigned account book.
• Calculate monthly finance charges in accordance with credit policy.
• Reconcile accounts receivable transactions.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Correspond with customers and respond to inquiries.
• Work closely with sales department.
• Backup Cash applications.
• Upload invoices to 3rd party payment portals such as ARIBA, COUPA and Bill.com.
• Coordinate audits and fulfill audit requests.
• Assist accounting department as needed.
