Job summary

Elon University’s University Advancement team seeks an Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Initiatives on Elon Campus to lead strategic alumni relation efforts, cultivate volunteers, and promote lifelong engagement through events and programming.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the role builds partnerships across campus, designs professional development for alumni, communicates via newsletters and social channels, and helps advance engagement goals with a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• Master's degree is a plus; 3–5 years in related fields preferred.
• Strong presentations, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Connect with alumni via email, social media, mailings, phone, and in-person meetings.
• Coordinate and facilitate online webinars, workshops, and content.
• Develop partnerships with career services and professional development programs on campus.
• Collaborate with communications to manage engagement content and alumni promotions.
• Identify and recruit alumni volunteers and manage volunteer opportunities.
• Support alumni events and programs on and off campus.
• Provide exceptional customer service to alumni.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and inclusive community building.
• Foster Elon’s inclusive community and diversity initiatives.
