Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Strategic Air Environmental Engineer to join our environmental team in Rincon, GA, based at the Savannah River Mill. The role focuses on strengthening air compliance and stewardship across operations, with emphasis on accurate documentation and timely regulatory reporting.

The selected candidate will collaborate with mill teams, regulators, and regional environmental members to balance priorities while driving improvements in air performance and data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of environmental regulatory experience focusing on air compliance in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage technology enablers and best practices to drive air emissions and environmental programs to be more resilient, verifiable, efficient and effective.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies and operations teams to meet environmental obligations.
• Develop knowledge of mill processes and their impact on environmental performance.
• Maintain and refine compliance programs to meet various air regulations.
• Assist with meeting air regulatory obligations including data management and report submissions.
• Utilize mobile inspections to meet air compliance obligations.
• Identify leading indicators that affect mill environmental performance and champion opportunities for improvement.
