Job summary

Global Cellulose Fibers seeks an Environmental Engineer at the Oglethorpe mill in Georgia to lead day-to-day environmental and sustainability responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements and driving continuous improvement. The role reports to the Mill Environmental Manager and requires a Bachelor’s in science/engineering with 3–5 years of manufacturing enviro experience.

Strong Title V, emission reporting, and data skills are essential, plus cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, environmental sciences/management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years environmental experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Title V compliance experience including ACC, GHG, Emission Inventory, LDAR, and SARA reporting.
  • Experience with regulatory and electronic reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical expert for environmental compliance for the mill and maintain regulatory programs.
  • Manage and renew permits (Title V, NPDES, groundwater/surface water, stormwater, solid waste, potable water).
  • Coordinate environmental contractor activities and data gathering for reporting.
  • Lead continuous environmental improvement and align mill strategies with company goals.
  • Prepare accurate, timely compliance reports and participate in regulatory communications.
