Job summary

ClickHouse is seeking a Support Engineer for China to own the frontline technical ownership for enterprise customers deploying ClickHouse on Alibaba Cloud. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of database engineering and operations, acting as a senior DBA rather than a traditional helpdesk.

You will interact with customers through SLAs, provide guidance, and collaborate with global engineering teams to resolve incidents. Strong SQL, Linux, and cloud platform experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical support, DBA, SRE, or database engineering for enterprise customers.
• Experience with on-call and SLA-driven environments.
• Knowledge of ClickHouse or similar DBMS, OLAP, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Linux and production debugging (logs, metrics, system calls).
• Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of customer issues for ClickHouse strategic accounts on Alibaba Cloud in China region.
• Triage, classify, and track incoming cases; feed back patterns to KBs and runbooks.
• Diagnose and resolve issues spanning SQL, replication, sharding, and cluster operations.
• Advise customers on best practices, capacity planning, and tuning for cloud workloads.
• Escalate complex issues to Core Database and Cloud Engineering while remaining single point of contact.
• Collaborate with China Engineering Manager to define SLAs and escalation paths.
• Contribute to internal tooling and documentation in English and Chinese.
