Job summary

Vallen Distribution, Inc. seeks an Accounts Receivable Analyst to manage a portfolio of high-value strategic customer accounts and moderately complex accounts, driving timely receivables, resolving billing issues, and collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, Operations and Finance.

This role combines hands-on portfolio management with systems expertise, using ERP platforms and analytics to monitor collection activity, identify risks, and execute customer-specific collection strategies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required or 2–4 years in Credit & Collections/Accounts Receivable.
• Proven experience in B2B collections and credit management.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a defined portfolio of strategic customer accounts maximizing timely collections and adherence to credit policies.
• Review portfolios daily to assess priorities, payment performance, and risk trends.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in collaboration with Cash Applications and Billing teams.
• Maintain detailed documentation of collection activity according to procedures.
• Develop customer-specific collection strategies with Sales and Customer Service to balance cash flow and relationships.
• Provide proactive status updates to internal stakeholders on delinquency and risk indicators.
• Advise on order holds or cancellations when credit risk warrants intervention.
• Monitor credit limits and terms in ERP; escalate to third-party collections when necessary.
• Leverage analytics tools to track portfolio performance and insights.
