Job summary

Fastenal in Minneapolis seeks a Full-Time Engineer - Strategic Accounts to apply technical knowledge with our sales and branch teams to develop, sell, and implement new fastener opportunities. You will be the primary engineering resource for your Strategic Accounts and manage a prescribed book of business.

You will work directly with customers and their product teams, providing expert support and leading design changes and new applications.

Qualifications

• Current full valid driver's license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent fastener industry experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer-service oriented.
• Good math aptitude with attention to detail.
• Strong organization, planning, and prioritization abilities.
• Willingness to travel 50%+ with some overnights.
• Pass drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam) and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional technical support both internally and externally.
• Maintain relationships with customers' engineering/technical staff.
• Execute fastener optimization projects, onsite reviews and troubleshooting.
• Grow large OEM fastener opportunities by supporting design changes and new applications.
• Serve as the technical liaison between Fastenal sales and customer engineering/quality departments.
• Lead and assist in customer product training seminars.
• Identify opportunities for product changes or substitutions to improve function or reduce cost.
