Rootbound Partners is partnering with an energy-industry client to strengthen its accounting infrastructure and processes. The role leads financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and multi-entity consolidations, with a focus on improving internal controls and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP knowledge and journalEntry preparation.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany activity.
• Proven ability to mentor accounting staff while staying hands-on.
• Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues with internal teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead financial reporting and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close across a multi-entity organization.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and GL activity for accurate reporting.
• Oversee GAAP financial statements, including consolidations and intercompany activity.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues with internal teams.
• Partner with accounting across functions to ensure timely, accurate information.
• Prepare management reporting packages and analyze variances for leadership.
• Support audits and external reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements to strengthen controls and reporting efficiency.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while remaining hands-on in daily tasks.
