Job summary

NW Recruiting Partners is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a growing distribution company focused on medical supplies. You will lead day-to-day accounting, manage month-end close, and provide financial insight to ownership and leadership.

The role requires hands-on leadership, process improvement, and building a small accounting team. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience (Great Plains/Report Writer preferred) are desired.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leading a function or team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, or distribution/manufacturing accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with owner and leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic decisions.
• Lead day-to-day accounting: AR, AP, payroll, GL, fixed assets, reconciliations.
• Manage month-end close and financial statements; produce management reports.
• Provide profitability, inventory, cash flow analysis; identify trends and improvements.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, controls, and workflows for accuracy and scalability.
• Oversee cash reporting and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Oversee expenditures and vendor/expense records; ensure compliance.
• Lead and develop accounting staff and maintain accountability.
• Coordinate with outside financial partners for banking, tax, and audit needs.
