Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an accounting emphasis preferred but not required
• Knowledge of governmental fund accounting either through education or experience preferred
• GAAP knowledge preferred; proficient in accounting procedures to keep records accurately and efficiently
• Proficiency with computers, accounting/payroll software, and Microsoft Office required
• Public contact experience preferred but not required; strong human relations skills
• Team-oriented with ability to work with diverse personalities and adapt to new situations

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Business Office staff to ensure internal controls and efficient public service
• Maintain complete and systematic records of district funds and transactions
• Manage funds, purchase orders, invoices, and fund balances
• Oversee federal grant funds, ensure reporting, reconciliation, and compliance
• Process and manage employee payroll in compliance with laws and policies
• Prepare fiscal reports as required by governance and state/federal authorities
