Strategic Account Manager, Transportation

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our team that can hit the ground running. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts to achieve Stryten’s business goals. You will also work in partnership with our regional sales managers to increase Stryten’s sales and profitability.

As a Strategic Account Manager, you should be organized, able to analyze sales performance metrics, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to build and foster long-term relationships with customers.

This position can be managed remotely from a home office with occasional trips to Alpharetta, GA (Headquarters) and customer visits, requiring 30% travel. You will be assigned one or two major accounts with the expectation of growing the business within these accounts.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the transportation battery business and the retail automotive aftermarket. You should understand how to manage large retail account requirements and strategies. Representing Stryten professionally, knowledgeably, and ethically is essential. Responsibilities
  • Network with key accounts to identify and address specific needs.
  • Develop account plans in collaboration with sales, marketing, forecasting, finance, customer service, and operations teams to meet company goals.
  • Implement strategies to optimize efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage working capital, including overdue accounts receivables, within company guidelines.
  • Forecast and monitor sales activity, stay informed on internal and external developments, and suggest new sales strategies. Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Contribute to the development of sales tools and reports, and coordinate with marketing on new product strategies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership, such as representing Stryten at trade shows, training new account managers, and presenting at sales meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
  • At least 5 years of major account sales experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Proven track record of impacting decisions and influencing others positively.
  • Results-oriented, energetic, and proactive.
  • Successful history in territory sales or key account management.
  • High business acumen and analytical skills for complex sales processes.
  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce.com.
  • Strategic selling, negotiation skills, and customer commitment.
  • Collaborative mindset, resourcefulness, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Technical proficiency with PC, business software, and the Internet.
  • Integrity, team-oriented, and goal-driven.
Environment & Physical Demands
  • Remote work from home with reliable internet and a suitable workspace.
  • Ability to visit client sites, including walking and standing.
  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer and phone.
Travel & Other Requirements
  • Approximately 30% overnight travel expected.
