Strategic Account Manager, Transportation

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts to achieve Stryten’s business goals. You will also collaborate with regional sales managers to increase sales and profitability.

Ideal candidates are organized, analytical, skilled negotiators, and capable of fostering long-term customer relationships. This position can be managed remotely with occasional trips to Alpharetta, GA, and customer visits, requiring approximately 30% travel. You will manage one or two major accounts with growth expectations within these accounts.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the transportation battery industry and the retail automotive aftermarket. You should understand how to manage large retail account strategies and requirements. Representing Stryten professionally, ethically, and knowledgeably is essential. Responsibilities
  • Network with key accounts to identify and address their needs.
  • Develop account plans in collaboration with sales, marketing, finance, customer service, and operations teams to meet company goals.
  • Create strategies to optimize efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage working capital, including overdue receivables, within company guidelines.
  • Forecast and track sales activities, stay informed on industry developments, and suggest new sales strategies. Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams to meet client requirements.
  • Assist in developing sales tools and complete reports promptly. Coordinate with marketing on new product strategies.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director and VP of Sales, such as representing Stryten at trade shows, training new account managers, and presenting at sales meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • At least 5 years of major account sales experience, with a minimum of 1 year in the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions and positively impact results.
  • Energetic, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Demonstrated success in territory sales or key account management.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills to understand complex sales processes.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, including Salesforce.com.
  • Strategic selling, negotiation skills, and customer commitment.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and creative with excellent time management.
  • Technical proficiency with business software and internet tools.
  • High integrity, team-oriented, and goal-oriented.
Environment & Physical Demands
  • Remote work setup with reliable internet and suitable workspace required.
  • Ability to visit client sites, walk, and stand as needed.
  • Prolonged sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and speaking on the phone.
Travel & Other Requirements
  • Approximately 30% overnight travel expected.
