Role Overview

This position involves generating new business sales, maintaining and building relationships with existing customers, and managing the full sales cycle. You will engage with engineering, purchasing, quality assurance, and senior management to generate opportunities, present proposals, and execute sales plans. The role requires interaction with customers, prospects, and key accounts to support Electro-Matic’s growth in an assigned territory.

This position is home-based in the Jacksonville, FL area.

Experience, Education, and Skills
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school or two-year college in electrical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four-year Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or related industries/products.
  • Experience with Siemens products is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing is required.
  • Occasional travel, including overnight stays, weekends, and international opportunities, is required.
  • Strong business, creative, technical writing, and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and multitasking ability.
Essential Functions
  • Manage existing accounts to increase sales revenue.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key contacts.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on leads.
  • Travel throughout the territory to call on customers and prospects.
  • Compile lists of potential customers from various sources.
  • Demonstrate products using samples or catalogs, emphasizing features.
  • Quote prices, credit terms, and present sales contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales Team and Customer Service to meet customer needs.
  • Resolve customer delivery issues.
  • Maintain detailed sales-related records.
  • Build relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations.
  • Attend and represent the company at trade shows.
  • Stay updated through educational workshops and professional publications.
  • Achieve sales goals and monitor sales budgets for expenses.
