Strategic Account Manager - Remote

Position Summary:

Seeking a talented and competitive Account Manager to thrive in a fast-paced, complex sales environment. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:


Position Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for selling food flavorings, ingredients, and solutions from the ADM Nutrition portfolio to customers in North America. The primary focus will be B2B sales to producers of savory and sweet goods, dairy foods, wellness products, and beverages. Responsibilities include building new business, growing sales with existing customers, and maintaining their base year over year.

This role involves close collaboration with customers on product development, cost efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives to drive growth. The person will work with cross-functional teams in technical, marketing, financial, food regulation, and business leadership roles.

The account manager will help define technical support needed to meet customer demands, executing projects through collaboration with the Creative Design & Development team on flavors, colors, and specialty ingredients. They will manage their pipeline using Salesforce, liaise with regulatory and scientific teams, and ensure solutions meet claims and product positioning requirements.

The incumbent will be responsible for:
  • Sourcing and managing new sales opportunities via inbound and outbound communication, promoting the entire ADM Nutrition portfolio across targeted segments.
  • Preparing targeted account plans to execute sales leads and develop customer relationships.
  • Maintaining constant contact with potential customers to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Building rapport with cross-functional teams including CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, and Legal.
  • Managing customer samples, opportunities, project follow-ups, and lead generation.
  • Implementing a proactive call schedule to increase customer engagement.
  • Using web-based tools to improve sales effectiveness, maintaining accurate records of quotes, sales, and activities.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
  • Maintaining thorough product knowledge of nutrition ingredients.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of account management experience in the flavor/ingredient industry preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, team members, and leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.com.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Availability to travel within North America up to 50%.
