Job Description Summary
Job Description Summary
The Opportunity
You have spent your career at the intersection of engineering and commercial strategy in the energy industry. You know how High Voltage (HV) systems work — not just in principle, but in practice. You understand what utility executives are under pressure to deliver, and you know how to position complex technical solutions at the level where decisions actually get made.
This role is built for someone like you.
As a Strategic Account Manager within GE Vernova's Electrification business, you will own the most strategically important customer relationships in our portfolio — from the Project engineer to the C-suite. You will build multi-year account strategies that connect GE Vernova's full Electrification capability with what our customers are trying to accomplish long-term. And you will do it with the credibility that only comes from having lived the technical side of this industry firsthand.
This is not a role for someone learning the energy business. It is a role for someone who is ready to lead at its highest level.
This account manager will focus on: American Electric Power and First Energy
Job Description
What You'll Do
You will serve as the strategic lead for key Electrification accounts, owning the relationship, the plan, and the outcomes — while coordinating across GE Vernova's full portfolio to deliver integrated solutions no single business line could offer alone.
  • Own the account, end to end — maintain executive-level relationships from the C-suite down, lead regular business reviews, and develop a rolling 3+ year account strategy that aligns GE Vernova's priorities with the customer's long-term objectives, needs, and culture.
  • Represent the full portfolio — advocate for the breadth of GE Vernova's Electrification (ELEC) product and service offerings, not only for HV systems and equipment, but also Protection and Control, power stability solutions (STATCOM, Synchronous Condensers, Fixed and Variable Series Compensation), Battery Storage and Solar Inverters, and Energy Management software ; drive collaboration across business lines where opportunities require complex or multi-business-line solutions.
  • Drive cross-business growth — co-sell with Gas Power and Wind Power sales counterparts to improve Electrification attachment rates to new generation projects; engage with the Vernova’s Enterprise Strategic Account Executive (ESAE) counterparts to increase penetration and sharpen strategy across GE Vernova.
  • Apply your technical depth — leverage your deep knowledge of HV equipment and electrical substation systems to engage credibly at every level of the customer organization, differentiate GE Vernova's solutions, and develop counterstrategies that grow share of wallet and improve win rates.
  • Map and grow the relationship — develop and execute relationship mapping that connects GE Vernova leadership with the right counterparts in the customer organization; identify and create ongoing engagement opportunities.
  • Measure what matters — use operational data, standard work, and metrics including Net Promoter Score (NPS) to monitor relationship health, account profitability, and strategic alignment.
  • Report on Account Growth — Reporting to the VP, Business Development for North America, prepare and report quarterly on account growth and progression
Who You Are
You are a senior commercial leader with an engineering foundation, deep electrification expertise, and a long track record of winning and growing share at Investor-Owned Utilities. You bring technical authority and executive presence in equal measure — and you know how to use both.
Required

  • Engineering background with deep technical knowledge of High Voltage equipment and electrical substation systems
  • 10 years of experience in the transmission & distribution (T&D) space
  • Proven success building and maintaining C-suite customer relationships and managing complex, multi-product strategic accounts
  • Proximity to a GE Vernova Electrification customer center of competence, or willingness to relocate
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
