We are currently seeking a Strategic Account Manager for Norcross, GA. This position requires an individual that is a strategic, service-oriented self-starter with great listening skills and empathy for needs, goals, and drivers of others. An individual in this position will be responsible for managing an assigned revenue target with profitability and growth focus. Additional responsibilities include developing new opportunities to increase revenue for their market while consistently providing excellent customer service and efficient execution of marketing activities and projects in accordance with our company vision and values.

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for making sure customer needs are met and understood by each department in the company. Their duties include handling any client complaints, working to find solutions to any client issues and managing other departments to foster a positive client-company relationship. The Account Manager will also manage complex RFP responses, forecasting, and weekly support activities associated with managing a large US based account.

The Account Manager will work from a home-based office in Georgia. This position will require travel 30-40% of the time to visit customers, attend trade shows, and engage with product selection influencers and/or product approver teams.

Key Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred. Other degrees with applicable experience will be considered; telecom industry experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrable understanding of basic telecom Networks, optical fiber media and components in the telecommunications application space is desired.
  • Customer-facing experience with an ability to work across a broad spectrum of influencers and decision-makers at every level of the marketplace is desired.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Qualifications: (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of Lightera policies, products, offers, and systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, SAP, Power BI.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Lightera’s critical clients.
  • Swiftly resolving any issue that a key client may have related to products or the company.
  • Anticipating any need for improvement in the relationship between Lightera and the key account.
  • Keeping track and supervising all communication between key clients and other departments within the organization.
  • Working with other departments to develop strategies for improving the quality of the products or services delivered to the strategic account.
  • Working internally to consult the company's management on setting budgets and updating financial forecasts.
  • Coordinating all departments involved in creating the goods or services that are to be delivered to key clients, such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, finance, R&D, marketing, management and any other department, with the purpose of making sure that the end product meets all client demands and quality standards.
  • Creating and presenting regular reports to the company's stakeholders regarding the status of Lightera’s relationship with its top clients.
  • Working along with sales teams to develop up-selling and cross-selling strategies for key clients.
  • Studying client data to help with customer relationship management through Salesforce.
  • Using various techniques to bring in new clients.

  • Communicating with clients by phone, email, and face-to-face to ensure their needs are understood and addressed.
  • Building strong client relationships to maintain current business and acquire new customers.
  • Provide support presence at trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations focusing on technical product applications.
  • Time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple tasks and clients.
  • Advanced negotiation skills to close contracts.
  • Provide competitive intelligence - feature set, road map, pricing.
  • Strong organizational skills and diligence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with MS Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Salesforce.
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information.
  • Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures.
