Job summary

Effingham County Board of Commissioners is seeking a Stormwater & Utility Engineer to plan, design, review, and manage stormwater, drainage, water, sewer, and related utility infrastructure projects across county facilities and communities.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental/Water Resources background with 5+ years of experience, and the ability to coordinate with regulators, consultants, and internal teams. GA PE preferred; GIS/AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills are beneficial for project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resources engineering.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible experience in stormwater, drainage, water resources, utilities, or public infrastructure project delivery.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Georgia PE preferred (Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, review, and manage stormwater, drainage, water, sewer, and related utility infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and/or review hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, drainage studies, utility plans, calculations, specs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with departments, consultants, regulators, and contractors to meet standards and regulations.
• Provide construction support including submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and project closeout.
• Maintain engineering records, calculations, and project documentation.
