The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Civil Engineer 2 to serve as a Project Engineer for the Stormwater Construction and Maintenance Permitting Unit at its Queens, NY headquarters.

Under general supervision, you will supervise reviews of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, oversee permit closeout, inspect sites, and coordinate field staff to ensure compliance with MS4 and CSO regulations.

Competenze

Four years of full-time civil engineering experience required.
New York State Professional Engineer license required and must be maintained.
Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Mansioni

Performs mathematical calculations.
Supervises intern and assistant civil engineers and project managers.
Provides direction and engineering oversight for review of stormwater pollution prevention plans and coordinates field inspection staff.
Checks and oversees the checking of as-built plans submitted by applicants to show conformance with rules.
Participates in field survey operations and determines if stormwater management practices are constructed per plans.
Inspects premises, witnesses soil testing and construction for compliance with law, rule, or regulation.
Reviews maps, plans, drawings, and specifications for permit issuance and compliance.
Prepares reports and correspondence and maintains records.
