Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks two Construction Project Managers 2 for the Stormwater Permitting unit in Queens, NY. You will respond to complaints, inspect sites during and after construction, and ensure compliance with stormwater permits and MS4 regulations.

Ideal candidates have multi-year experience in construction inspection, hydrology, and hydrologic practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with developers and engineers are required for success in

Qualifications

  • Five years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with minimum total cost of $300,000 per project.
  • Bachelor's degree or professional license plus related experience may substitute as described in the job posting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing to applicants and permittees.
  • Knowledge of stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulics is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Review site civil drawings for compliance with the Construction General Permit.
  • Inspect stormwater management systems during and after construction.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records related to inspections and permits.
  • Communicate permit requirements and penalties for noncompliance to applicants.
  • Assist field surveys and ensure proper conformance with approved plans.
