Job summary

The City of Spring Hill, Tennessee seeks a semi-skilled/skilled Stormwater Technician to inspect sites, perform maintenance, operate equipment, and support the Storm Water Management Plan to ensure compliance with city and state standards.

You will conduct field inspections, document findings, repair stormwater infrastructure, control traffic in work zones, respond to flooding, and maintain records and reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Level 1 Stormwater Licensure is required.
• CDL is preferred.
• Construction experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction and site compliance with SWPPP, UPDS permits, land disturbance permits, and City Storm Water Management Ordinance.
• Inspect and maintain stormwater drainage systems (culverts, pipes, ditches, catch basins).
• Repair damaged stormwater infrastructure using hand and power tools.
• Operate equipment (dump trucks, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, vacuum trucks, mowers).
• Respond to flooding, drainage complaints, and emergency storm events.
• Install or replace stormwater pipes, inlets, grates, and erosion control measures.
• Complete inspection reports and maintenance records.
