Job summary

City of Winter Springs (FL) is seeking a Stormwater Maintenance Worker to perform general manual work and semi-skilled labor for maintaining the city’s stormwater drainage system. Responsibilities include inspection, maintenance, repair, debris removal, and coordinating with other departments.

This role may require after-hours work during emergencies and essential duties as part of the Emergency Management Team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance and general maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Knowledge of stormwater infrastructure installation, maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of and skill in using common hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to operate light and heavy equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, skid steers, loaders, dump trucks, backhoes, Gradall excavator, vac trucks, and track hoe for maintenance tasks.
• Clear vegetation and debris with hand and power tools.
• Support pre-storm preparation and post-storm cleanup efforts.
• Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests.
• Assist other departments or crews as needed.
• Maintain equipment and tools and conduct pre/post-trip inspections.
