Job summary

The City of Brooksville, FL is seeking a Stormwater Technician to join our Public Works team under general supervision. You will assist with installation, maintenance, inspection, cleaning, and repair of stormwater systems, using PPE and equipment safely.

You will read plans, use GIS maps, and perform physically demanding tasks, including working in confined or vegetated areas. Emergency operations and training are part of duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in stormwater maintenance or related field.
• Equivalent education/ training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of stormwater systems.
• Load and transport pipes and materials; operate common tools.
• Read and interpret plans; use GIS and maps to locate structures.
• Comply with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Support emergency response and stormwater program enforcement.
